2019: Exchange program at IE University in Madrid, Spain. (drawn to their QS top 10 ranking and Spanish football!)

2021-2023: Master’s degree in analytics and management at London Business School. (ranked 5th in Business Analytics)

2023: Exchanged to Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Career

Search Engine

On top of the complicated search engine architechture, our product team is working from several aspects to make sure that users get the best possible results when using the search engine.

  1. Strategies

    A group of product managers work on finding opportunities in existing scenarios and defining new scenarios to improve the search experience and the relevant metrics. Our toolbox of optimizing strategies includes but not limited to search supply optimization, search rank optimization, redeign information presentation, etc. The products provided by our internal systems could also be leveraged to reach the goals.

  2. Systems

    A group of products managers work on developing internal systems to provide new standardized functionalities to interact with the search engine architecture, in order to support all business team to reach the goals. They are in charge of managing the development of internal systems, as well as the strategies of how they are used to tune the search engine performance.

On a day-to-day basis, we constantly monitor the metrics and badcases reported, and work together with researchers and developers to iterate our products.

I bundled the underlying data of tag services, filter services and tag recall links into one tag data infrastructure to unify the management of related data, and led to develop a open platform for all business teams to leverage the data and deliver better experience, achieving business goals while saving tons of engineering resources.

Financial Alternative Data

Investors are still troubled with shocks in listed companies when financial reports are released. To address this issue, we leverage third-party datasets to train models and automate daily predictions, so that investors can have a more accurate and realtime sense on how the listed companies are performing. Our model accuracy keeps outperforming analysts consensus across different industries.

eCommerce analytics

Our analytics team of the eCommerce platform is organized by country segments, supporting both ad-hoc and ongoing projects for our global business teams. Marketing analytics is a long-term topic to track key e-commerce operational metrics. As a data science enthusiast, I leverage my programming and statistical expertise to develop innovative solutions that enhance the efficiency of our marketing operations.

Coupons are a widely adopted strategy among online merchants to boost conversion rates, especially during high-impact promotional periods such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Our analytics team regularly conducts comprehensive analyses to measure the actual effectiveness of coupon campaigns. To streamline this process, we aim to develop a self-service analytics platform equipped with customizable templates, enabling business teams to evaluate coupon performance and impact in real time.
